Founded in 1971, Université de Bretagne Occidentale (UBO) is a public university located in Brest, Brittany, on France's northwestern coast, with additional campuses in Quimper and Morlaix. The university serves approximately 23,000 students and is particularly recognized for its excellence in marine and coastal sciences, holding strong rankings in earth and marine sciences (QS: 201-275) and geology (QS: 201-250). UBO's research strengths also extend to health sciences, engineering, computer science, and humanities, supported by 37 research laboratories and membership in the SEA-EU Alliance and University of the Arctic.
