Founded in 1289, Université Paul-Valéry Montpellier 3 was established as a separate institution in 1970 as one of three successor universities to the historic University of Montpellier. Located in woodland north of Montpellier, France, the university specializes in humanities, social sciences, languages, letters, and arts, enrolling over 19,000 students across six teaching and research units.
